Overview

The Associate Manager of Experiential Marketing will be responsible for managing the in-store events process from request to execution, as well as a monthly calendar and seasonal strategy around events, retail marketing and campus + music initiatives. They will manage the day-to-day communications and event coordination between home office and the Urban Outfitters channels. They will help analyze and optimize the events strategy and process with an eye towards efficiency, business results, and brand values.

Responsibilities

In-Store Regional Events

\xc2\xb7 Manage flow of in-store events, the events calendar, customer outreach for new store openings, and customer facing initiatives for stores. Identify opportunities for store teams to support brand priorities through local events (Ex. partnering with UOR team to execute regional events to boost app downloads)

\xc2\xb7 Own in-store submissions + events process, drive improvements + highlight, motivate +incentivize top performing stores through internal channels. Review store event proposals to ensure that plans are organized, creating a positive and on-brand customer experience.

\xc2\xb7 Archive and organize all event creative, photography, recaps, budgets and assets from regional events and act as liaison between internal and external teams for regional events assets. Educate field teams on best practices for event execution, be the true owner of the in-store event programs. Manage regional event marketing budget.

Experiential Production

\xc2\xb7 Create briefs for event projects, communicate updates as timelines progress and provide event recaps that speak to creative execution, foot traffic, sales impact, PR and digital awareness, and social media impressions.

\xc2\xb7 Manage event creative requests. Work collaboratively through approval processes across all relevant internal and external parties, content, brand marketing, partnership marketing, store environment. Own event marketing platform, Splash.

\xc2\xb7 Develop event ROS, spearhead vendor outreach, build + maintain vendor relationships, manage vendor payment and accountable for tracking budget.

\xc2\xb7 Organize workflow and communication between all parties involved in the various stages of planning, marketing development and execution of the event including meetings, follow ups and providing creative solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Research industry trends + competitor experiential initiatives, drive creative ideation and pitch creative proposals to impact the business and acquire new audiences. Maintain cultural events calendar for use by brand marketing team, social team, + cross functional partners. Awareness of social impact and brand values including diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and cultural sensitivity.

\xc2\xb7 Develop a strategy for how the brand shows up and intercepts college campuses via events, campus media, and other marketing initiatives.

\xc2\xb7 Create event and campaign project recaps that analyze sales reports and KPI\xe2\x80\x99s to show business impacts.

Retail Marketing Operations

\xc2\xb7 Partner with cross-functional teams to develop a retail strategy for brand priorities and external brand partnerships.

\xc2\xb7 Manage the process of requesting assets (signage etc.) from the creative teams and ensure internal and external approval along with production follow-through.

\xc2\xb7 Work with Store Environment team to package project details for store distribution.

\xc2\xb7 Communicate with store teams about upcoming retail initiatives, sharing direction and collecting photos upon completion.

Music Marketing Support

\xc2\xb7 Manage in-store production of Music Meet & Greets including promotional strategy, logistics, and on-site management. Run point on communication with labels and management.

\xc2\xb7 As needed, create music-specific marketing plans to support special events, album releases, and other projects, tapping into fandom culture and marketing extensions.

\xc2\xb7 In conjunction with localized marketing initiatives, leverage and encourage talent within store teams and local social accounts in planning music-focused community events, localized brand partnerships, pop-ups, and beyond.

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with retail creative leads on opportunities for in-store music marketing initiatives that involve store display, shops, events, and more.

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 2+ years of experience working for a well-known brand producing compelling events

\xc2\xb7 Existing relationships with vendors

\xc2\xb7 Experience translating insights, ideas, and data into campaigns and activations

\xc2\xb7 Experience creating campaigns that evolve a brand to reach their target audience and retain customers

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated success crafting experiential events in a variety of formats across channels that have made cultural impact

\xc2\xb7 Presentation and deck building skills & design programs (Adobe Suite)

Job Skills

\xc2\xb7 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills: Must be able to communicate needs and objectives effectively via email, phone and in meetings

\xc2\xb7 Creative thinker with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain accuracy in a fast paced, dynamic environment

\xc2\xb7 Builds Relationships/Influences: Experience in successfully collaborating with many different personality types. Team player who is willing to provide assistance whenever and wherever needed

\xc2\xb7 Exceptional project management, process management and organization skills. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate efforts across a large organization (both internally and externally)
