Columbus School for Girls (CSG), an independent day school founded in 1898 in Columbus, Ohio, serves diverse students in grades pre-k through grade 12. Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic Upper School Head Coach.

Major Functions and Responsibilities:

STUDENT SUPERVISION

  • Comprise rosters and turn in copy to Athletic Department at completion of preseason
  • Maintain proper supervision of athletes at all times during athletic practices and games
  • Ensure all students have been accounted for and left the premises prior to departure
GAME RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report all game results and highlights to the Athletic Department immediately following contests
  • Email sports@dispatch.com with your team\'s results, including individual statistics, by 11:00 p.m. at the conclusion of all HOME Varsity contests
  • Maintain season long sport specific stats for the team/individuals and submit to the Athletic Department at the conclusion of the season
PROFESSIONALISM
  • Dress in CSG athletic gear and athletic footwear for practices and games
  • Display timeliness and preparation for all team practices, games, and other Athletics related meetings
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of communication with parents and athletes
COMMUNICATION
  • Establish and distribute team rules/codes/expectations with consequences for athletes in writing at onset of season
  • Utilize TeamSnap application for communication with team members and parents
  • Adhere to the school\'s social media policy by not engaging student interaction or \xe2\x80\x9cfollowing\xe2\x80\x9d student accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Inquiries surrounding prospective students must be sent directly to the Admissions Office. Coaches are not to engage in discussion surrounding their program or CSG Athletics with non-CSG students.
  • Communicate effectively with Athletic Department regarding changes to schedule, transportation, and rosters
  • Communicate with Athletic Trainer and adhere to the decisions of athletic trainer regarding athlete participation
SCHOOL GROUNDS AND BUILDING ACCESS
  • Building access cards are designated for the assigned coach and are not to be shared under any circumstances
  • Secure all facilities at the conclusion of each use and ensure gates are locked
  • Demonstrate pride in our athletic facilities by keeping locker rooms and sidelines clean and free of debris, trash, and water bottles
  • Use of CSG facilities must be approved by the Athletics office during the regular and off seasons
POST SEASON AWARDS
  • Communicate with the Assistant Athletic Director respective athlete awards for post season ceremonies in a timely manner
  • MVP, MIP and All Out Hustle
  • Submit three season highlights
OUT OF SEASON EXPECTATIONS
  • Out of season skill sessions, conditioning and open gyms are supported and encouraged.
  • Sensitivity regarding the demands of multi-sport athletes schedules is a must

Requirements

COACHING CERTIFICATION
  • Complete and remain current in all required coaching certifications
  • ODE: Pupil Activity Permit (3 years)
  • Coaches\' Tool Chest (Annual)
  • BCI/FBI Background Check (5 years)
  • Attend all required OHSAA rules meetings and coaches meeting
Strong candidates will also have:
  • an understanding of the value of an all-girls education and the eagerness to learn about the best ways to help young women of promise reach their full potential as learners and leaders.
