Employment Type: Part time Shift: 12 Hour Evening Shift

Our ideal candidate will support professional staff in the coordination and completion of non-clinical functions. Communicates effectively with team members regarding patient information, messages, and medical documentation. Maintains Electronic Medical Records. Facilitates smooth operation of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Certification in National Association Hospital Unit Coordinators desirable

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous hospital or medical office experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization\'s Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

Revenue Management: Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Understands department charges. Performs charge capture and reconciliation processes, as directed. Demonstrates ability to look up information in Powerchart. Attends charge capture education offerings and completes written education as directed to ensure competencies.

Device Maintenance: Maintain the Laptop Charging/ Storage center in area: keep batteries and devices charged, return devices to charging bay after use and maintain physical security. Act as a central point of contact for Resolution Center and Desktop Technicians to coordinate repair. Open Heat Tickets (issues) with the Resolution Center when devices need service or to report a problem. Inventory devices assigned to their unit and communicated with other Device Coordinators on device "whereabouts". Perform basic trouble shooting techniques on computer devices. Answer basic device questions.

Serves as a liaison between patients, families, and professional staff.

Receives data and ensures that appropriate processing occurs. Assembles and dissembles patient\'s charts upon admission and discharge.

Prepares patient charts for transfers to other units.
