Starting at $19.00 - $21.00/hour (based on experience)

Benchmark Behavioral Health System Hawaii is a 10-bed behavioral health facility that serves adolescent boys in a residential setting. We use a TRAUMA INFORMED CARE APPROACH to working with our clients and we will teach you how to apply these principles in an effective and positive manner. The Unit Manager plays an essential role in providing a safe and secure environment for the clients we serve and our staff.

Unit Manager\xe2\x80\x99s Responsibilities:

• The Unit Manager performs routine client care duties in addition to shift supervision and selected nonprofessional services under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and works closely with the Clinical Director. The job requirements include:

• Provide a safe and secure milieu for our clients and staff
• Staff support \xe2\x80\x93 Active Engagement in building healthy relationships among staff and clients
• Documentation
• Assists staff with professional development goals
• Client physical/social needs
• The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
• Works closely with Case Manager when planning client-related activities

Must be capable of the following:

• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Capable of supervising staff and managing multiple tasks
• Creating and managing a weekly physical education routine with clients
• Planning and executing creative activity schedules for clients when on school breaks
• Computer skills

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or a GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older to apply.
• A minimum of one year of acute psychiatric experience in a hospital-based setting and/or experience in working with adolescent with behavioral and emotional problems who may suffer from a variety of psychiatric diagnoses such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Conduct Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), and Substance Abuse issues.
• Resiliency: Being able to manage stress in a dynamic environment.
• Consistency: Being a dependable and consistent presence that our clients can count on.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have an Associated Degree or higher in a Social Science Field.
• Must be willing and physically capable of responding to a physically aggressive clients using the CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention method. This procedure may include but is not limited to kneeling, squatting, bending and lifting.
