The location of this role is the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona

The Role

The Costing and Business Improvement Engineer\'s primary responsibility would be the creation and maintenance of the underground mining budget and reconciliation to that budget. This role would also be instrumental in cost reduction and continuous improvement exercises.

Accountabilities (Include but are not limited to):

Individual Accountabilities:

  • Creation and maintenance of the underground capital, sustaining, and operating budget.
  • Communication with relevant stakeholders for input into the budget.
  • Reconciliation and reporting of plan vs actual mine spend
  • Communication with vendors
  • Plan risk mitigation
  • Continuous improvement
  • Manage junior engineers
  • Weekly, monthly, and annual presentations
Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in mining engineering or related field OR Degree in accounting, business, or related field; MBA Preferred
  • Underground mining experience preferred
  • Cost planning and budgeting experience
  • Experience managing professionals
  • Experience presenting to large groups as well as groups of managers and executives
  • Mine costing software experience- Xeras or InEight Preferred
  • ERP Software experience- SAP Preferred
  • Mine Planning Software- Deswik preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Due Diligence and double-checking work
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
