The Turbomachinery Specialist is responsible for the repair, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of industrial production and processing machinery in power generation, processing industries, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, and pipeline distribution systems. This includes Everllence OEM equipment, third-party equipment (OMNICARE), steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and other rotating machinery.



Key Job Responsibilities:



Coordinate and schedule shop personnel to optimize day-to-day operations. Support and execute key and large repair projects. Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching for all shop employees. Collaborate with the Shop Manager and Engineers to ensure work is completed according to specifications. Perform hands-on service work on turbomachinery as required. Maintain on-call availability 24/7 to address urgent needs. Prepare and complete technical reports. Recommend repair options and make on-the-spot decisions to execute non-standard procedures. Repair and maintain power generation and industrial production machinery and equipment. Create detailed maintenance and inspection records documenting all work performed. Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications to plan assembly and repair operations. Verify parts' conformance to stock lists and blueprints using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers. Conduct root cause analysis and follow up on non-conformities. Develop and write rework procedures for process improvement and provide training on these procedures. Execute project management duties, including planning, GANTT chart creation, PRF, and Everllence-client liaison activities. Identify shop improvements and generate fixed asset requests. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and perform repairs. Inspect, test, and reassemble equipment after completing repairs. Operate machinery to verify the adequacy of repairs and ensure it meets customer specifications. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery as needed. Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and jib cranes to maneuver parts and equipment.

Education:



Associate's degree from a 2-year college in a Mechanical field is preferred but not required. High school diploma or equivalent with 4 to 12 years related experience and/or training.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:



Minimum eight (8) to fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience in turbomachinery machining services required. Experience with Dry Gas Seals (DGS) installation, bearing installation, rotor centralization, and bearing strap crush. Knowledge of rotor axial positioning and hydraulic fit component installation. Basic welding skills. Ability to estimate and schedule turbomachinery service work. Experience as a shift/team technical lead. Mechanical aptitude for working on rotating equipment, including screw compressors, axial flow compressors, centrifugal compressors, barrel compressors, expanders, steam turbines, and compressors. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, blueprints, and precision measuring equipment. Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English, both verbal and written. Possession of a sufficient quantity of professional hand tools to perform daily assignments effectively.
