Under the general direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer, the incumbent, a Transportation Engineer (Civil), provides technical leadership to create, oversee, quality control, and maintain data, databases, protocols, reporting, and workflows for the statewide film permit program. This statewide program is performed in collaboration with the California Film Commission (CFC) advancing cooperation with the domestic and international film industries. The incumbent serves as the technical lead for the development of statewide film permits. The permits from this program will be used to facilitate and meet strategic goals to enhance and connect the film industry needs to encroach onto the State's highway systems, improve safety, and advance equity when managing filming encroachments. The incumbent works with film industry professionals, other Districts, other state Agencies/Departments, Cities and Counties, and other stakeholders. Work may occasionally require the incumbent to travel to and from film location and work beyond normal work hours.
