Why does the job exist?
Performs highly advanced supervisory training and program work. Work involves overseeing and/or analyzing training needs for NMDWS, provides consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, State agencies, community organizations, or the general public.
How does it get done?
Ensures that Training and Development content, delivery, and overall objectives are always in line with agency and stakeholder vision, mission, goals and objectives. Supervises the work of the Training & Development Specialists and Curriculum Coordinator. Serves as a professional resource for employees and managers regarding training programs; promotes the use of training services. Identifies long-range training goals and recommends programs to achieve goals, including the development of an annual training plan. Prepares budgets for training programs. Oversees and plans, develops, reviews, revises, and implements training programs, policies, and procedures; promotes the use of training services. Oversees and compiles data and writes reports. Oversees and conducts training in a classroom, distance learning, or e-learning environment; facilitates workshops and meetings. Oversees and develops curricula, course outlines, instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other instructional materials and products.

Must have the ability to collaborate with others to arrive at effective and appropriate standard operating procedures and processes. 3. Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, coach staff toward growth and success while meeting stakeholder and agency objectives. 4. Extensive experience and understanding of the importance of financial accountability in the execution of assignments; this includes management of overtime and other resources to prevent abuse and waste.
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor\'s Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver\'s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 25 lbs, sitting for long periods, repetitious hand movement, bending, stooping, squatting, telephone usage, and standing. This position will require 50% travel and as needed to accommodate customer requests to include occasional overnight stays.
