Individual Occupational Requirements

Education

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Experience

Specialized Experience (for positions above GG-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical
knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

  • Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
  • Supervising or administering a training program.
  • Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of
  • training results.
  • Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

For Community College of the Air Force GG-1712 positions only:
Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate\'s degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria.

DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application.
