In-Person Test Preparation Tutor (Math & ELA)

Location: Norwood & Medfield Learning Centers (on-site)
Organization: Wildewood Education
Hours: Monday-Thursday 4-7 PM; Saturdays 12-4 PM (as scheduled)

About the Role

Wildewood Education is seeking two experienced Test Preparation Tutors to work in person with middle and high school students in our Norwood and Medfield learning centers. These tutors will focus on Math and ELA test prep (e.g., SSAT/ISEE, SAT/ACT, and other standardized assessments as needed), as well as foundational skills where appropriate.

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working one-on-one and in small groups, knows standardized tests well, and can build strong rapport with students and families.

Key Responsibilities

Provide in-person tutoring in Math and ELA for standardized tests (e.g., SSAT, ISEE, SAT, ACT, and school-based assessments as applicable). Diagnose student strengths and weaknesses and design targeted, personalized lesson plans. Teach content (algebra, geometry, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, etc.) as well as test-taking strategies and time management. Track student progress, communicate regularly with parents/guardians and Wildewood leadership, and adjust instruction as needed. Maintain accurate records of sessions, attendance, and goals. Collaborate with the Wildewood team to align expectations, materials, and best practices.
Required Availability

Monday-Thursday: 4:00-7:00 PM Saturday: 12:00-4:00 PM Tutors must be able to work during most or all of these windows; exact schedule will be determined based on enrollment and center needs. Work will be in person in Norwood and/or Medfield, depending on student placement and center demand.
Qualifications

Required

Prior experience teaching or tutoring Math and ELA, preferably with middle and/or high school students. Familiarity with standardized test formats (e.g., SSAT, ISEE, SAT, ACT or similar). Strong content knowledge in: Math (through at least Algebra II; Precalculus familiarity is a plus). ELA (reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and analytical writing). Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning styles. Reliable, punctual, and professional in communication with students and families. Comfortable working in person in Norwood and Medfield.
Preferred

Classroom teaching experience or prior employment at a test prep company. Experience analyzing practice test results and designing data-informed instruction. Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or related field.
Compensation & Structure

Hourly compensation, based on experience and qualifications. Training and curricular support provided. Opportunities for additional hours during peak seasons (school breaks, summer programs, etc.).
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
