job summary:
A Test Engineer is needed for a manufacturer of optics products in the Westborough, MA area. The Test Engineer role involves technical expertise in software, hardware, and Quality Assurance, responsible for setting up test systems, executing protocols, and collaborating closely with developers, while also conducting performance testing and maintaining lab functionality for Image Stream Medical\'s live video management products.

responsibilities:

• Participate in integration testing, working closely with the development engineers at the module and system levels.

• Develop and execute written test plans and procedures for medical devices.

• Document and analyze system and software failures during verification.

• Participate in the design review process, providing expertise in testing requirements.

• Execute performance level testing to generate system performance metrics.

• Maintenance of the test equipment and lab functionality.

• Maintain the Test Engineering lab organization as well as keep track of equipment, software versions, etc.

• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education:

• BEE BSCS (or equivalent) preferred but not required

Experience:

• Minimum of 1-3 years\' experience with test plan creation and execution using problem tracking software for reporting and analysis

• Experience with setting up computer and client networks

• strong familiarity with operation installation and administration of Windows Client and Server.

• Experience with computer hardware platforms

• Experience testing UI software applications

• Automated testing tool experience

Skills:

• strong organizational problem-solving skills and documentation skills

• Basic understanding of video standards such as MPEG2, H.264, etc.

• Knowledge of medical device product development and testing a plus
