Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our team. As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications. Your responsibilities will include writing test acceptance criteria, creating test plans for various components, executing test cases, and collaborating with the SCRUM team.

This position requires hands-on testing experience, familiarity with test automation tools, and proficiency in Agile and waterfall environments. You will work onsite, actively participate in team activities, and contribute to the success of our projects. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Software Test Engineer who can contribute to the success of our projects and ensure results.

Complete Description

  • Conducting thorough testing of our software applications. Your main focus will be on writing test acceptance criteria, creating comprehensive test plans for each component, and executing test cases based on requirements.
  • You will work closely with the entire SCRUM team, actively contributing to project management using JIRA. A primary tool you will utilize is XRAY, which integrates with JIRA and Confluence.
  • You will be responsible for generating the test steps, considering the software environment, and ensuring that test steps are aligned with project requirements. It is crucial that you have a hands-on approach and the ability to write test steps independently, as they will not be provided.
  • The software applications you will be working on are predominantly developed in Java, C, and C++.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as SMARTBEAR, Test Complete, XRAY, and JENKINS is highly desirable, as you will be expected to leverage automation in your testing efforts.
  • This position requires a strong understanding of Linux/RHEL/Windows Operating Systems, experience in test plan development and execution, and the ability to troubleshoot software applications.
  • Additionally, you must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity prior to renewal, as international travel may be required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Onsite availability and willingness to actively participate as a team member.
  • Proven experience as a hands-on Test Engineer, including writing test acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to create test plans for various components and test them against specified requirements.
  • Experience with project management using JIRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to write test steps independently and generate them based on the software environment.
  • Solid understanding of Linux/RHEL/Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience in planning, developing, and executing test plans.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for software applications.
  • Possession of a valid passport with at least six months of validity prior to renewal.
Preferred Requirements
  • Prior operational and/or administrative experience with the Global Command and Control System - Joint family of products.
  • Experience aligning test cases with user requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools, such as SMARTBEAR, Test Complete, XRAY, and JENKINS.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, providing onsite installation and troubleshooting support in various locations, including major COCOMs, AOCs, Canada, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Hawaii.
