Job Summary
---------------
The Temporary employee will support Lakeside Cafe as a Dining Services Assistant on the Statesboro Campus. The Dining Services Assistant plays a key role in providing a clean, efficient, and welcoming dining experience across Georgia Southern's residential dining halls. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities include food serving, maintaining dining room cleanliness, and dishroom operations. This position supports the overall mission of delivering excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Temporary employees are employed according to departmental need and the length of time will vary by workload and may not exceed 1300 hours worked in a 12-consecutive month period.
This position works on an as needed basis and is non-benefited.
Responsibilities

Serves food in a courteous and efficient manner
Maintains food quality, temperature, and portion control
Set up, restock, and clean food stations
Assists customers with food choices and questions
Follows food safety and sanitation regulations
Greets and assists guests
Cleans and sanitize tables, chairs, and counters
Restocks condiments, utensils, and napkins
Sweep and mop floors, empty trash and recycling
Maintains a clean, organized dining space
Sorts, rinses, and loads dishes into dish machines
Operates dishwashing equipment
Restocks clean kitchenware and utensils
Maintains cleanliness in the dishroom and workstations
Follows proper sanitation and safety procedures
