Dauphin County Department of Public Safety is accepting applications for the position of Telecommunications Systems Administrator

An employee in this position is responsible for the planning, design, administration, maintenance, documentation, training and 24 X 7 technical support of the department\'s telecommunication networks and equipment.

The employee\'s primary responsibilities include 911 and Next Generation 911 telecommunications technologies.

The successful candidate must possess knowledge of landline, VoIP, cellular, SMS and TTY 911 call flows as well as, Next Generation 911 Core Services. Be capable of conducting annual and periodic analysis of call center traffic verses operational metrics and make recommendations based upon data and industry best practice. Additionally, the candidate shall have experience resolving telecommunications contract, billing, and Ani/Ali discrepancies.

As a member of the Office of Technical Systems, the candidate shall maintain their availability 24x7 through various communications means as part of their job function.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited college with a two year degree in a related field; plus five years\' experience supporting technical telecommunications systems and users with preference of three years\' experience with emergency services or public safety technology. (Experience in a related technical or administrative field may be substituted year for year for educational requirements).

Supplemental Information

A valid driver\'s license and a favorable criminal background check are required.
