SUMMARY

The Technology Transfer and Research Management Support Specialist will assist Cherokee\'s Government client to develop technology transfer agreements to enable new medical products to be developed for the military and provides research proposal support to scientists which enables advancement of medical technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
  • Review and evaluate intellectual property (IP) disclosure documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist inventors with their invention disclosures
  • Review and evaluate intellectual property (IP) held by partner as well as in-house IP to determine the possibility of new IP and value of the collaboration
  • Process, track, and revise agreements in support investigator\'s collaborations with parties within and outside the Federal government
  • Serve as the point of contact for incoming request forms for agreements including CRADAs, MTAs, Collaborative agreements, SLAs, IAAs, DSAs, and others.
  • Coordinate a weekly meeting to review potential collaborations by developing agenda that is sent to participants, attend meetings and discuss the proposed collaborations, and maintain records including meeting minutes and due outs, adding information to databases and tracking them for future reference
  • Perform background and commercial market research on technologies needing a commercial partner
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed
  • Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster information privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.

  • Perform background and commercial market research on technologies needing a commercial partner
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed
  • Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster information privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.
  • Works with all organization personnel involved with any aspect of release of protected health information related to the research being done at the hospital, to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the organization\'s policies and procedures and legal requirements.
  • Assists with other laboratory or outreach projects as needed. This includes working with other members on special projects and assignments.
  • Pre- and full proposal management and tracking duties which includes:
  • 1) coordination of grant submissions in a timely manner,
  • 2) coordination of review of proposals submitted in response to the BAA/PA,
  • 3) review of all pertinent documents to ensure recipient compliance with established administrative and financial policies and procedures and sound business practices,
  • 4) Assist Investigators with research proposal submission processes
  • 5) work with internal PIs and external partners/collaborators on preparation of proposal documentation
  • 6) monitor the research award decision process
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • MS or BS Degree in Health Science, Allied Science, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a preclinical and/or clinical study-related research environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience or demonstrated knowledge of technology transfer, working knowledge of Federal technology transfer legislation and policies.

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background investigation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work will be performed in a climate-controlled office environment and via Telework.
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $80,000.00- 92,000.00 annually
