The Teacher Expert, Instructional Support assists in providing an educational program that is responsive to student needs while addressing the goals and objectives of both the Anchorage School District and the school. The teacher expert remains abreast of best practices and shares with instructional staff. The position encourages teachers to apply principles of learning and effective teaching methods that enable students to be actively engaged in the learning process. The teacher expert provides instructional classroom support through recommending, demonstrating, or modeling appropriate materials, technology, and resources to help meet learning needs of all students. The teacher expert reports to and is evaluated by the site principal.
This position requires a valid Alaska educator certificate. The number of work days is based upon the AEA negotiated pay scale. Information on the pay scale can be found online on our . Positions that are 0.50 FTE to 1.0 FTE are associated with the Alaska Teachers\xe2\x80\x99 Retirement System (TRS), positions that are 0.40 to 0.49 FTE are associated with the Alaska Employees\xe2\x80\x99 Retirement System (PERS). Positions that are 0.39 FTE or less are not eligible for state retirement benefits.
