Job Duties and Responsibilities

This role will be onsite in Englewood, CO

DISH is seeking an experienced Tax Technology Analyst to join our team. We are looking for someone professional, sophisticated, and who can embrace technology as we transition into the wireless industry.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with special tax-related projects
  • Billing and tax system integrations and project management
  • Identify and explore indirect tax opportunities and issues related to business expansion
  • Ensuring appropriate systems and controls are in place
  • Automating current department manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and other emerging technologies
  • Developing complex tax reporting to meet department\xe2\x80\x99s tax compliance needs
  • Provides technical knowledge in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise tax systems
  • Analyze, implement, and validate monthly tax engine rate, rule, and jurisdiction updates
  • Identifies and recommends process and system improvements
  • Participates in implementing efficiencies through the Indirect Tax group
  • Perform a critical analysis of tax system test results and deliver solutions to problem areas
  • Configure and test taxability override in the tax engine
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure changes are operating as expected
  • Work with team members of various business units to reduce the impact of indirect taxes on proposed transactions
  • Communicate tax system changes to impacted groups within the tax department as well as internal stakeholders
  • Minimize company tax liabilities by staying abreast of reporting changes and by analyzing existing methods for calculating taxes
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects related to indirect tax
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education: BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in Sales/Use Tax
Skills and qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Sales and Use tax, Telecommunications tax, business licenses/gross receipts tax, and related reporting to tax authorities
  • Experience testing application releases, version upgrades, etc., and documenting results
  • Proficient understanding of Alteryx and/or SQL, Python, Oracle, and other scripting/big data languages
  • Experience with Vertex tax engine software including North America Sales Tax O Series, Vertex Communications Tax L Series, and Vertex Communications Tax Q Series is a plus
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Capability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
Salary Range

Compensation: $57,400.00/Year - $82,000.00/Year
