Description

1901 Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a System and Tools Engineer to support a DOD customer. The System and Tools Engineer will be required to gain expertise in multiple systems administration areas across the customers enterprise. This is viewed as a critical role within the System Operations Team and will contribute substantially to the team\xe2\x80\x99s success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform account management tasks including adding, changing, and deleting user accounts in a secure RBAC environment.
  • Provide asset management workflow support
  • Manage, maintain and administer the ASRS System
  • Perform tools integration tasks so the customers tool stack efficiently shares data across the the enterprise. Integration may be performed via Python and other scripting languages, system API, or tools configuration.
  • Provide System Administration and Management of both Linux and Windows environments as required
  • Create scripts in PowerShell, Python, Linux and/or bash as needed to automate and/or streamline repeatable processes.
  • Integrate new systems and tools into the enterprise.
  • Work with Cyber SME\xe2\x80\x99s to create, test and deploy new and revised security settings as required
  • Review, Create and deploy Group Policy Objects
  • Maintain and utilize Active Directory groups, sites and services, as it pertains to enterprise infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure DNS and DHCP settings
  • Provide general system and enterprise troubleshooting as needed
  • Document and track all work in the customers ITSM system
  • Create documentation, procedures, and work instructions and provide technical guidance to shift work to lower tiers as required.
  • Must be able to be onsite at customer location in Riverside CA, as required at the direction of the Customer and/or Program Management
  • Learn new tools and skills to assist in operations and maintenance of the enterprise as it evolves over time.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience and 8 years experience
  • Exposure to TCP/IP and other basic networking, and a desire to learn deeper networking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proactive attitude toward ensuring all stakeholders are aware of tools activities and changes.
  • Must have the ability to independently drive tasks to conclusion with minimal supervision and oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to administer RedHat Linux
  • Experience with Active Directory, GPO creation and deployment, and DNS/DHCP
  • Windows and Linux server administration skills.
  • Understand the management and configuration of SELinux and how it can affect application runtime and security
  • Understand and demonstrated ability to interpret and utilize scripting to automate and streamline system administration
  • Be able to apply security updates to systems via YUM and RPM and troubleshoot bad updates to determine the proper fix
  • Have demonstrated experience using VLANs, troubleshooting tools such as netstat, ss and telnet as well as how to harden a system using firewalld/iptables and hosts.allow
  • Have exposure to or understanding of the DISA STIG or its commercial equivalent and be able to demonstrate experience in system hardening and auditing. Understand the effect of applying STIGs on OS functionality and auditing
  • Understand SAN/storage concepts (LUNs, HBAs), logical volume management (LVM), & NFS and how to utilize all of those in the OS
  • Demonstrated ability managing and/or creating services via the command line. Display understanding of services such as SMTP/NTP/SFTP and the basic requirements for utilizing each
  • Strong user management skills through the command line and an understanding of Linux/AD authentication and the use of realmd/kerberos
  • Strong system administration skills
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Positive attitude and high-energy approach to IT support. Desire to learn, work, and grow in a team environment.
  • US Citizen who can obtain a DoD secret clearance.
  • Obtain a baseline 8570 certification [(IAT Level II) CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP].
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong system configuration and automation skills.
  • Exposure to Ansible and able to automate tasks via playbooks
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift and how to leverage those technologies in a DevOps environment
  • Working knowledge of Solaris 10/11
  • Experience automating assigned tasks utilizing Python, PowerShell, bash or other scripting languages.
  • IT Operations-related technical certifications (A+, Net+, Sec+, MTA, MCSA, RHCSA, CCNA, etc.)
Pay Range: Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00
