Position summary:
The surgical patient care coordinator is responsible for managing the adminstrative and clinical preparation of patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, surgeons, clinical staff and external facilities to ensure a smooth and informed surgical experience. The coordinator plays a critical role in gathering medical histories, preparing preoperative documentation, scheduling procedures, and ensuring all requirements are met prior to surgery.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct preoperative assessments including reviewing medical histories, allergies, and current medications.
-Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with patients, providers, hospitals and surgical centers.
-Ensure all pre-op testing (labs, imaging, clearances) are ordered, completed and documented.
-Provide patients with detailed pre-op and post operative instructions and answer any related questions.
-Maintain communication with surgeons and clinical teams regarding patient readiness.
-Track and follow up on outstanding documentation, consents, and test results.
-Ensure compliance with all HIPAA and privacy regulations.
-Update and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
-Obtain necessary referrals for procedures.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Prefer minimum of 2 year experiences in a surgical dental or healthcare setting
-Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
