Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgery Coordinator specializing in Orthopedics to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of surgical procedures, insurance authorization and medical administrative support. As a Surgery Coordinator, you will facilitate the smooth operation of orthopedic surgical cases, coordinate patient care, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Your role is vital in providing exceptional patient service and supporting clinical staff to deliver high-quality orthopedic care.

Responsibilities



Coordinate all aspects of orthopedic surgical scheduling, including pre-operative assessments, operative procedures, and post-operative follow-ups. Manage patient intake processes, verify insurance coverage, and facilitate authorization for surgeries. Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and insurance requirements. Submission and tracking and follow-up of insurance authorization and insurance carrier requested and documentation to optimize reimbursement processes. Maintain detailed medical records and ensure proper filing within electronic health information systems. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries via multi-line phone systems, practicing professional phone etiquette, and supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. Collaborate with clinical teams to develop care plans and ensure seamless communication between providers, patients, and insurance companies. Support office management tasks such as scheduling appointments using medical scheduling software.

Qualifications



Proven experience in medical administrative support within a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedics or surgical environments. Strong knowledge of O.R scheduling and monitoring of surgical cases. Experience with insurance verification, and Authorization guidelines. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Exceptional communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette and patient interaction. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Prior clinic or orthopedic office experience is advantageous; familiarity with health information management systems. Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
