Leadership:
Oversees and manages the activities and daily responsibilities of the Centralized Monitor Room
Assures compliance with commonly held monitoring standards for patient care
Supervision:
24 hour accountability for supervising and evaluating work performance in terms of patient monitoring, unit relations, and efficiency of services
Coordinates the activities/workflow of the monitor techs
Assures that staffing needs are met for safe and effective patient care
Assists in performance evaluation, coaching, and recommends disciplinary action when warranted
Responsible for orientating new Monitor Room personnel
Reporting/Recordkeeping:
Ensures that monitoring records are maintained in a confidential manner
Provides monitor strips to Health Information Services for medical records (as appropriate)
Accountable for maintaining accurate records to show the location of MP5 and Portable Telemetry location(s)
Budget:
Prepares and monitors budget in compliance with departmental guidelines
Maintains and monitors unit supplies/equipment
Education:
Maintain annual review requirements (as required)
Regulation
: Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
Complies with appropriate Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
Assists with the update and develop of departmental techniques, policies, and procedures
Job Knowledge
: High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred in related field
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Monitor Tech, preferred
Supervisor experience 1-2 years, preferred
Certification in Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); required
Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills required
Working knowledge of computer hardware/software and basic office equipment; required
Excellent interpersonal skills; required
