The YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring Summer Lifeguards at all levels for our branches in Lafayette, Longmont, Boulder and Johnstown. Lifeguards ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members and guests, and keep our Y pools a friendly, welcoming environment for all to play, learn and build confidence in the water. Your responsibilities may also include general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, water quality testing, and general problem-solving. Summer guards can work 10 to 40 hours per week during summers and we have year-round opportunities for part time or full time guard openings. Staff working more than 10 hours per week may sign up their children or siblings for free YMCA camp too! More about this in the benefits section.

Requirements:

• Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR-PR Certifications
• Current Oxygen Administration Certification
• Minimum 15 years of age for Junior Guard, 16 for Lifeguard, 18 for Head Lifeguard
• Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days of being hired

Salary Range: $16.50-20.25/hour depending on experience and availability. $13.65 for Junior guards (raise will be offered as soon as you turn 16). In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English.

All YMCA of Northern Colorado part-time staff working 10+ hours each week are eligible to receive a free family membership. Staff who work 10+ hours a week earn 50% to 100% off our programs. That includes free YMCA traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate and swim lessons, and half off YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, specialty summer camps, and childcare. If you work 20+ hours a week, your benefits grow from there. Sick time is earned from day 1, and we make contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.
