Job Description

The YMCA of Northern Colorado Is looking for year-round, part time Lifeguards at the Longmont YMCA. Our Lifeguards serve as advocates for the safety and wellbeing of our members and guests, and you will ensure that the Y\'s pools are a friendly, welcoming environment for all to play, learn and build confidence in the water. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of participants while they are in or near the pool or hot tub, general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, chemical testing, and general problem-solving. You\'ll need to relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, members, program participants, and children. Position is up to 28 hours per week with opportunities up to 40 hours per week in our summer season.

In general, our YMCA pools are open:

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 am - 7:45 pm
• Saturday: 7:00 am - 2:00 pm
• Sunday: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 16 years of age. If you are 15 please apply as a Junior Lifeguard.
• Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR Certifications
• Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful
• Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days of being hired

Salary range is $16.50-18.00/hr based on experience. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English.

All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the .

Full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 88 hours of paid sick time, and 8 paid holidays per year. Free YMCA programs include: after-school programs, Camp NOCO traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate, and swim lessons. Discounted YMCA programs include: preschool, YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental, and vision benefits. Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
