Summer Assistant Chef - Student Internship - Camps Kenwood and Evergreen

Camps Kenwood and Evergreen (K&E) in Wilmot, NH

Dates:

June 11 - August 8, 2026

Starting Salary:

$3600 + $150 travel allowance

Time Off

: 4-5 hours per day and 1 day per week

What You'll Do

Fuel the magic.

Help prepare delicious, balanced meals for our camp community of 450+ campers and staff. You'll work alongside our Head Chef and kitchen leadership team in a fast-paced, supportive environment that values quality, safety, and creativity.

Learn by doing.

Gain real culinary experience in menu planning, food prep, cooking techniques, baking, plating, and serving at scale. Rotate through different kitchen stations to build confidence and skills you can take anywhere.

Support special diets and food safety.

Assist with allergen-aware meal prep and food labeling, and help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and health protocols. Learn industry-level food safety systems and procedures.

Be part of the community.

Get to know campers and staff in the dining hall and during special events. Say hi, share a smile, and be a friendly face everyone looks forward to seeing at meals.

Bring the energy.

Jump in for theme meals, BBQ nights, cookouts, surprise desserts, and all-camp celebrations. Help create moments campers will remember forever. If you have ideas for creative dishes or fun food experiences, we want to hear them.

Own your growth.

Ask questions, offer suggestions, take initiative, and step up to support your teammates. Our favorite phrase at K&E is "How can I help?" and it absolutely applies in the kitchen. Your voice matters here.

Shape camp's future.

Participate in team meetings and feedback sessions. Celebrate wins, troubleshoot challenges, and be part of a culture that values learning, communication, and continuous improvement.

About K&E

: We are a traditional, long-session brother-sister overnight camp situated beside the gorgeous Eagle Pond. We're two hours from Boston, but our campers (ages 7-15) and staff come from all over the world. Campers and staff also embark on trips to local attractions, mountains, and beaches throughout the summer.
