Nature of Work

Under general supervision this position works within the programs department to aid in services provided to address substance abuse. This position may be part of a unit that delivers the agency\'s GOALS, RSAT, or Re-entry programming. This position will counsel inmates to identify and address issues that contribute to substance abuse. This may include conducting individual and or group therapy sessions, facilitating educational programs, and aiding in referrals to support services to aid in the rehabilitation process.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in counseling, counseling and guidance, psychology, social work, education or a related social or behavioral science.

Substitution: Full-time or equivalent part-time specific experience in social work or counseling with substance abuse clients may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required training.
