Summary

The Strategic Planning Sr. Advisor is a new and challenging role for a strong leader who will have accountability in supporting the value-based care provider membership growth strategy across Cigna Medicare. This individual will collaborate with national and local internal and external leaders to develop and cascade membership growth strategies across multiple markets by building and deploying solutions and measuring effectiveness to scale best practices.

This new role has a wide scope of interactions with people across Cigna and other companies, including providers, brokers, agency partners, etc., therefore the ability to influence and mobilize a matrixed team will be critical to the role\xe2\x80\x99s success.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and supports provider level end-to-end growth strategies and tactics across priority markets and providers.
  • Recognizes and analyzes key indicators of the provider\xe2\x80\x99s membership growth health by identifying trends of deployed strategies and tactics, and identify opportunities for improvement, plus scaling best practices across multiple markets and providers.
  • Stays current on knowledge of Cigna Medicare\xe2\x80\x99s and providers\xe2\x80\x99 competition, market forces, consumer trends and applies knowledge to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Understands provider growth goals impact on broader Medicare growth goals plus routinely assesses goal progress and responds with updated tactics if off-target.
  • Recommends and influences marketing investments based on growth goals and trends.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for value-based provider growth and retention strategies and educates internal stakeholders on trends and best practices.
  • Brings strategic business context into discussions with internal and external stakeholders to align expertise and recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Influences and builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure effective and positive relationship across the organization, including initiating and maintaining effective channels of communication.
  • Ensures compliant approach is always designed and maintained, such that both regulatory and ethical concerns are embraced, while optimizing the patient-provider relationship
  • Works closely with Marketing, National Provider and Compliance oversight and monitoring teams to ensure that all provider specific presentations, growth communications and growth collateral adhere to CMS Guidance
Skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience required; advanced degree desirable
  • 3 or more years of driving growth within the health insurance or value-based provider industries experience required.
  • Experience in driving growth for Medicare Advantage preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of healthcare industry, Medicare/Medicare Advantage knowledge preferred.
  • Efficient time and project management skills to navigate trade-offs in prioritization when planning with other teams.
  • Must be able to balance high-priority, long-term projects with short-term, immediate deadlines.
  • Strong analytics skills to build and interpret reports with strategic insights.
  • Resourcefulness, perseverance, and courage to drive discussions to overcome partner challenges/objections and to overcome perceived internal hurdles by driving discussions with data and information.
  • Lead strategies and drive accountability including proven ability to influence and lead up and down for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Nimble with an entrepreneurial spirit to support this emerging strategy.
  • Curious and inquisitive nature that loves to think from the provider\xe2\x80\x99s and consumer\xe2\x80\x99s point of view.
  • Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and executive presence including ability to provide meaningful and clear report out (verbally and in writing) to senior level executives.
  • Ability to travel - 25% , subject to change

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,300 - 182,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
