Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible position that coordinates the facilities operation under the direction of the Administrative Services Director. This position performs duties and responsibilities of overseeing building maintenance for three (3) sites for the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County (FDOH - Citrus), overseeing and providing the maintenance, repairs, and security and assists with the policies and procedures governing same. Responsible for monitoring, tracking and accountability of inventory for all equipment, cars, etc. surplus of equipment. Requires independent judgment and decision making.





Emergency operations functions required of the incumbent include, but are not limited to, special needs shelters, Red Cross shelters, or other emergency functions, including responses to bioterrorism or threats of bioterrorism. Designated "Need to Know" position with access to confidential information. Adheres to State of Florida and Florida Department of Health, Citrus County Confidentiality and Security policies and procedures.



Serves as liaison with the Citrus County Facilities department and vendors that provide services at DOH-Citrus facilities. Coordinates with County Maintenance crews and contractors/vendors for all necessary installations, repairs, emergency repairs, and maintenance for DOH-Citrus facilities. Checks and inspects work when completed and provides weekly updates to ASDII. Coordinates repairs for medical and office equipment including setting appointments and requesting estimates. Assist all departments with interoffice moves and assembling of office- type equipment. Assists with minor repairs (such as assembling furniture, shelving, or equipment; changing light bulbs, hanging items on walls, replacing light/outlet covers, replacing ceiling tiles, touching up paint, plunging toilets, replacing carpet tiles, general maintenance work, etc.) as needed. Assists in keeping outside premises neat, clean, and orderly. Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds.






Analyzes and coordinates the logistical functions of the agency, or receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Keep records and compile inventory reports and is responsible for some or all of the entire life cycle of goods and commodities, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources. Control the use, disposal, and security of all state and county-owned property. Identify and record state and county-owned property. Responsible for the disposition and transfer of property according to policy. Responsible for reporting stolen or vandalized property. Maintains and organizes an inventory of materials and supplies (including mailroom, janitorial, preparedness warehouse, and storekeeper room). Maintains an inventory of contracts associated with property, assets, and inventory, responsible for managing inventory systems, compiles reports on property and inventory stocks, assists in identifying, documenting, measuring, and improving property and inventory processes. Maintaining onsite and offsite storage areas, accepts deliveries that come to receiving and delivers them, daily.






Opens, sorts, date stamps, recording checks and distributes incoming mail. Deliver outgoing mail (including certified mail and packages) to the U.S. Post Office as needed. Making courier runs to all DOH-Citrus sites and any other specified locations as needed. Transports daily bank deposits, medications, client records, reports, supplies, equipment. etc. as needed to various departments and agencies. Occasionally assists the other Citrus CHD programs with picking up specimen samples from animal services (or other locations as needed) and deliver them to the Tampa State Lab Branch. Travel may occur outside of this county as needed.





Responsible for the maintenance and security of the DOH-Citrus facilities during and after-hours. Services in subject-to-call status for building security for after hours and weekends, responds to calls for all locations. Ensures building maintenance, safety, security and inventory are in working order, and also in compliance with mandates, and the policies and procedures governing each area. Actively participates in DOH-Citrus Safety Committee (takes meeting minutes, action item follow-up, identifying and reporting hazards, trains new employees on Workplace Safety). Conducts quarterly building safety inspections as well as biannual fire drills. Promotes a culture of safety including reporting to staff safety reminders monthly, or as-needed.






Serves as the Fleet liaison. This includes coordinating repairs with the county, maintenance (including car detailing), collects mileage logs and documents usage and costs for fleet bills. Completes monthly vehicle inspection, gets quotes for any repairs for maintenance and repairs of the vehicles as needed.





Performs administrative duties such as documenting the weekly generator testing, grounds and maintenance work order spreadsheets, and logging in vendor checks. Responsible for key inventory management which includes key and combination code assignment, key inventory, and key retrieval when employees change positions or depart from the organization. Scans the Explanation of Benefits into a folder for review. Assists with the setup and breakdown of events and meetings as requested.






Assists with emergency preparedness tasks. During emergency activation is responsible for taking pictures of facilities before and after the storm, transporting oxygen to shelter, staying in the building during storm for logistical operations and delivering items to the SpNS, and ensures vehicle fuel levels are full before the storm. During hurricane season, performs monthly preparedness vehicle inspections and reports findings to the Preparedness Planner.





Performs other related duties as requested/required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This is work performing custodial and courier assignments along with vehicle maintenance within the County Health Department and its premises. Ability to lift 50 pounds, using proper technique as trained in the annual DOH Safety Training, bend, stretch, and walk short distances multiple times per day. Must be able to use a computer for basic data entry. Expected to have excellent verbal and written communication. Expected to have sound judgement and decision making.
