Job Title: Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit

Location: Huntington, WV 25701

Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $2,052-$2,394/week

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Step Down Unit in Huntington, WV. As a Step Down Nurse, you will play a vital role in the care and monitoring of patients who require a higher level of support than a general medical-surgical unit but do not require intensive care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Step Down Unit.
• Assess and monitor patients\' conditions, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms.
• Administer medications, IV drips, and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, recognizing and reporting any abnormalities.
• Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to changes in patients\' conditions or emergency situations.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout their hospital stay.

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of West Virginia or compact state license.
• Specialty experience in Step Down or Telemetry settings.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
• COVID-19 vaccination required as per facility guidelines (medical/religious exemptions only).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a step-down or similar setting.
• Ability to interpret telemetry data and recognize potential complications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and provide care in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
