Salary Range: $100,000 to $110,000 annually

Work Location: This role is 100% on-site and based in Newark, NJ

Responsibilities:
  • As a member of the Infectious Disease Practice, provide patient care for a very busy clinic that deals with a large number of mentally ill patients with infectious diseases (i.e., HIV).
  • Skillfully administer total patient care based on the individualized needs of assigned patients and families, in accordance with professional nursing standards.
  • Assess the health status of assigned patients; then plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessment and medical plan of care.
  • Provide direct patient care or direction and supervision to other health team members to ensure proper implementation of plan of care.
  • Teaches patient and significant others about health/illness state and plan of care.
  • Ensures that patient and significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting.
  • Is knowledgeable of and initiates emergency procedures.
  • Administers medications and parental therapies in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains patient safety, comfort, and cleanliness.
  • Develops and maintains good human relations skills consistent with the principles of the program with employees, patients, medical staff, and visitors in accordance with the performance of duties.
  • Reports all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of and participates in nursing quality assurance activities.
  • Uses problem solving methods to resolve issues that impact nursing care.
Required Skills:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a RN.
  • Ability to assess the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the nursing standards.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients in a clear and confident manner.
  • Must be comfortable dealing with mentally ill and infectious disease (i.e., HIV) patients in a very busy clinic.
  • Experience in Infectious Disease, HIV/AIDS care, and Mental Illness is preferred.
  • Credential Required: Professional Registered Nurse, BLS for Providers (CPR).
  • Ability to work one evening until 6/6:30pm.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires standing 2/3 of the time, walking 2/3 of the time, requires sitting 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel over 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1/3 of the time, talk or hear over 2/3 of the time. Requires lifting of up 2/3 of the time. Occasionally requires ability to push wheeled carts/stretchers more than 100 pounds up to 1/3 of the time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Vitalief partners with clients such as major medical centers and academic institutions that requires all on-site resources such as prospective Vitalief consultants to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated for Covid-19; inoculated annually for Influenza; and successfully pass a Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) for Mycobacterium Tuberculosis.
