Job Summary

  • The Staff Nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients/families on assigned units.
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Diploma, associate (ADN), bachelor (BSN) or masters (MSN) in nursing degree with at least one year of recent clinical nursing experience.
Experience

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
  • Current BLS certification.
Additional Information The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is a 20-bed unit with 4 dedicated ECMO suites. The CVICU provides state of the art care for neonatal and pediatric patients with acquired or congenital heart disease that require intensive care management or close monitoring for conditions such as: co-morbidities of congenital or acquired heart disease; pre and/or post-operative cardiac surgery patients; dysrhythmias; cardiomyopathy; pre and post-operative care of cardiac transplants; and patients requiring Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) or Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
