A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN RN UNIT MANAGER





As a Staff Development at our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing home staff, including nurses, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals. You will develop training curricula, conduct in-service education, and facilitate ongoing professional development to enhance the skills and knowledge of the healthcare team. Your goal is to ensure that staff members are well-trained, competent, and capable of providing high-quality care to residents.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN RN UNIT MANAGER




Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing, education, or a related field is preferred. Certification in nursing professional development or education (such as Certified Nurse Educator) is desirable. Previous experience in staff development, nursing education, or a related role in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care facility. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing best practices. Excellent teaching, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to assess learning needs and develop effective educational programs. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to staff training and education. * Proficiency in using educational technology and software for training purposes.
