This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more. Mississippi State University is a large campus in the heart of Mississippi where the Bulldogs reign supreme. Football games bring in 65,000 fans and their new, top of the line baseball facility houses the 2021 College World Series Champions. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to be responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of reports and statements. The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable in accounting processes, and can communicate clearly across departments. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts for several locations
• Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, month end closure.
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
• Responding to information requests for produced financial statements, and assisting with internal and external audits.
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Assisting Controller and CFO with any projects as needed.

Other related duties as needed EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in accounting or finance required
• At least two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in accounting or a related field
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and analyze financial reports
• Strong understanding of US tax regulations
• Knowledge Bean Works, Sage, Concur and/or ByPass POS systems is preferred.

Work Environment The work environment for this position will mainly be a traditional Monday-Friday 9am-5pm role. This positions requires in office work with prolonged time sitting and looking at a screen. Nights and or weekends will be required during the home football games. Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position Salary & Benefits:

• The salary range is $50,000-$55,000/year
