Join our team! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You\'ll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

The Avionics Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing mission system and payload system architecture and perform engineering trades to support mission execution concepts and derive system performance requirements.

The Avionics Systems Engineer will be responsible for architecture between multiple payloads within multiple product families while interfacing with internal and external customers from concept, integration, and employment.

The successful candidate will ensure requirements are effectively integrated into the system through purposeful architecture, design, development, and configuration. The Avionics Systems Engineer will employ strong technical, analytical, and creative skills to visualize, evaluate, and disseminate system engineering principles.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. **Contingent upon contract award on or about May 1, 2023**

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor\'s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with aerospace avionics design and development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Willingness to work on a small team performing complex engineering design evaluations for a diverse mission set across multiple domains
  • An active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required
Preferred:
  • Master\'s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
  • Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
  • A working knowledge of digital data bus architectures (ex: MIL-STD-1553B, Ethernet, SpaceWire, RS-422, RS-485)
  • Knowledge of industry standard systems engineering design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management or Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience supporting procurement by identifying vendors and maintaining impeccable vendor relationships throughout life cycle
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
  • Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,552.10 - $165,759.14

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
