Job Description


Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated, technically deep Senior Manager of Solutions Architecture to manage a growing team of Solutions Architects (SAs) supporting the Federal Partners business in the US. You will be a hands-on leader, who leads by example. Your experience in building and managing high-performance teams will help accelerate our growing business. As a Senior Manager within AWS WWPS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad usage of AWS\'s utility computing web services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Relational Data Service, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Elastic MapReduce, and Amazon CloudFront within partner organizations that serve government organizations. Your responsibilities will include: supporting the Federal Partners/SI business development and sales team while owning the technical engagements with customers and solution providers (systems integrators and ISVs), helping to define implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, standing up demonstration and proof-of-concept systems, and achieving ultimate success around specific technical projects.

In addition, you will lead and mentor a team of highly talented SAs, helping them to set and surpass their own goals.

**This role can also be filled by candidates within driving distance to the DMV area (VA, DC, MD, PA, or NC)**

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Arlington, VA, USA | Herndon, VA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 8+ years of progressive technical experience as a solutions architect, software or system engineer, or technical consultant.

5+ years managing a technical team of solution architects, sales engineers or similar technical roles.

3+ years working within the US Federal Ecosystem.

Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A technical background in engineering, computer science.
Bachelor\'s Degree.
Direct experience working with public sector accounts.
Prior experience working at a systems integrator partner.
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated organizational and presentation skills.
Meets/exceeds Amazon\xe2\x80\x99s leadership principles requirements for this role.
Meets/exceeds Amazon\xe2\x80\x99s functional/technical depth and complexity.
