College of Arts and Sciences is seeking (1) Associate Director, Administrative will be responsible for programmatic activities and coordinate outreach, communication, and activities of AGSC.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for programmatic activities, and coordinate outreach, communication, and activities of AGSC. This position will also manage budgets liaise with AGSC Associate Director (at Georgia Institute of Technology), and AGSC leadership professionally and effectively.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Associate Director, Administrative are the following:

  • Provide administrative leadership and coordination of AGSC\xe2\x80\x99s outreach activities, including representing the Director in their absence.
  • Manage the activities of program faculty as they pertain to the research, teaching, and public engagement mission of the Center.
  • Management and supervisory duties with graduate and undergraduate assistants, including hiring, training, and delegating.
  • Manage grant execution to comply with university and funding agency guidelines, deadlines, and regulations in coordination with AGSC associate director at Georgia Tech.
  • Manage the Center\xe2\x80\x99s grant budgets and accounts in collaboration with GSU and AGSC leadership, in compliance with University, State, and funding agency guidelines.
  • Identify and execute potential external funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals in collaboration with Director(s) to further leverage AGSC activities.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with AGSC stakeholders from across GSU (OII, WLC, CULTR, RCB, SPH, AYSPS, etc.) and with partnering institutions, as well as represent AGSC in interactions.
  • Coordinate seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Develop and strengthen outreach programs to K-12 educators and students, business, media, and others.
  • Oversee preparation of publications and reports.
  • Manage website, communication, and outreach to promote AGSC and its activities.
  • Represent the Center in interactions with individual and institutional partners both within the AGSC, and external to the University.
  • Coordinate the FLAS Fellowship application process that includes the review committee and award process, the Office of Financial Aid; the Study Abroad office when applicable, orientation of students, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Instruct 1-credit directed studies in Global Studies course for FLAS Fellows focused on career exploration and preparation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree and three years of supervisory/management experience or a combination of training and experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
  • A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree relevant to international studies and programs, or equivalent experience.
  • Administrative experience, project coordination, and demonstrated organizational ability.
  • Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students from a wide variety of disciplines, and with representatives from national and international institutions.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary programs in the context of a complex university.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Initiative and creativity in program development. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computing skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing. Website development and maintenance.
  • Ph.D. Degree relevant to international studies and programs or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in grant management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, planning, communications, and customer service.
  • Working knowledge of contract administration. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution.
