Night Audit Specialist Role Overview

Shift: 10pm-6am



As a Night Audit Specialist, you are a key member of the hotel's overnight team, tasked with auditing, balancing, and reporting on various hotel operations such as food and beverage, rooms, front desk, and retail outlets. Your role is crucial in providing management with accurate and timely financial information, reflecting the hotel's performance for each day. Additionally, you will oversee front office operations during the night shift, ensuring all guests receive exceptional service, even outside regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough checks of front office accounting records for accuracy, compiling financial data for the hotel's records. Monitor and report on room revenues, occupancy rates, and other critical front office statistics. Prepare detailed summaries of cash, check, and credit card transactions, showcasing the hotel's daily financial activity. Post room charges and taxes to guest accounts accurately, processing all payment types and vouchers. Ensure all financial postings and balances are verified and correct. Compile operational reports, providing a clear summary of the night's results for hotel management. Assume responsibilities of a Front Desk Agent, delivering top-notch guest service and support. Carry out additional duties as needed to support the hotel's operations and guest services.

Qualifications and Skills:

Exceptional attention to detail with a strong aptitude for numbers and financial reporting. Previous experience in a hotel or similar environment, particularly in a night audit or front desk role, is highly valued. Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Excellent communication skills, capable of providing friendly and efficient service to guests at all hours. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and producing accurate reports. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
