Position Summary/Objective of Job:

The Spin Supervisors main function is to oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process in the Spin room. The Spin Supervisor fulfills their responsibilities by: proactively problem-solving, creating a positive work environment that empowers Spin Team Members to do great work, and coaching & supporting the Spin team to help them achieve the daily production goals.The results of a successful Spin Supervisor include: maintaining a safety-first culture, driving efficiency to meet daily production goals, producing a final product that passes QA standards, and having an engaged and knowledgeable Spin Team.

Essential Functions:

Understand that Team Members are human and everyone is different. As a Spin Supervisor, being able to understand that is vital to the success of the Spin team and company.

This position is directly responsible for the Spin production room and all work performed within.

Finalize & adjust work orders. The Spin Supervisor is required to correctly fill in and adjust work orders so all required information (i.e. lot codes, use by dates, etc.) is accurate. This is done on a daily basis at the end of the shift and occasionally during the shift.

Coordinate daily activities and communicate to Spin team and management daily responsibilities, including but not limited to: the production plan, priorities and position assignments.

Ensure daily production goals are met by minimizing downtime, having a plan for the day including production changeovers, ensuring the team starts on time and monitoring the flow of the day.

Identify bottlenecks and escalate to Assistant Production Manager if necessary. In the absence of the APM, must be able to make decisions, implement changes, and report changes to the Spin team.

Ensure all company policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed by all Team Members on Spin floor.

On a daily basis ensure that Operator 2 and 3 have completed their sub assembly tracking sheets, the work order, weight checks tracker.

Provides training and retraining to current and new Team Members on team specific processes and procedures as well as equipment in the production room.

Represents the Spin team at the daily leadership meeting and reports out on production and any issues, and takes any information about changes in schedule, expectations, new process learned in the meeting and reports to their Spin team. Records and reports to other managers on the details and action items of the meeting.

End of shift (EOS) walkthrough on every station to ensure all finished goods, raw materials and paper goods are correctly stored and for general cleanliness.

If Spin team daily goals were not met, the Spin Supervisor is responsible for sending a root cause analysis to the leadership team as to why they weren\'t met.

Complete the EOS report by filling out the EOS spreadsheet with the day\'s production numbers, any issues, attendance, and next few days readiness for tracking and recording.

Additional Responsibilities:

The Spin Supervisor position must cooperate and collaborate with their peers and other departments on a daily basis, in areas such as: staffing, meeting production goals, communicating readiness, quality assurance, etc.

Consistent communication between this position and its managers.

Occasional projects with deadlines.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following qualifications:

3-5 years of experience managing people in a fast paced environment.

1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or production and/or commercial kitchen required.

Understanding of the principles of 5S and 6 Sigma-not necessary but preferred.

Knowledge and Critical Skills:

Fluency in English: reading, writing, speaking is required.

Spanish speaking as second-language is preferred.

Being helpful and adaptable is imperative to the success of the Spin Supervisor because new tasks will always present themselves on a daily basis.

Must have knowledge of each task and ability to demonstrate and teach that task to a wide range of skill-leveled Team Members.

Ability to lead and thrive in a ever-changing and fast-paced environment.

Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people and keep track of multiple projects.

Ability to effectively work in a high stress environment with multiple personality types.

Use good problem solving skills, must be able to collaborate with direct reports, peers and managers to come up with the best course of action.

In depth knowledge of manufacturing equipment required.

Specific knowledge for each piece of machinery is necessary.
