Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Onsite)

Position Overview:

The Registration Specialist supports the Otolaryngology Department by facilitating patient flow and managing administrative tasks to ensure accurate registration, scheduling, and financial documentation. This role is essential in promoting efficient operations and enhancing the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and direct patients and visitors professionally

Schedule appointments and collect medical and insurance information

Explain department and hospital policies, including charges

Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems

Collect payments and provide receipts

Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately

Maintain accurate financial and demographic records to support reimbursement and clinical outcomes

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA preferred

1-2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10 and CPT coding experience preferred

Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
