Summary

The Specialty Nursing Services Coordinator (SNSC) maintains, organizes, implements changes to and directs specialty nursing services, including but not limited to Inpatient Hemodialysis and Inpatient Wound Care services. The SNSC will ensure the above services are compliant with contracts and regulatory requirements, and will oversee daily activities. Additionally, the SNSC will provide administrative support to the nursing directors and ACNO.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily operations of inpatient hemodialysis, inpatient wound care and other specialty nursing service lines
  • Creates policies and procedures for supported specialty nursing service areas, including comprehensive best practice reviews
  • Assists with the evaluation of specific service areas/programs and coordinates activities for regulatory readiness
  • Attends meetings as assigned and reports on actions. Records, transcribes and distributes meeting minutes for clinical committees. Conducts policy and protocol review during such meetings
  • Support and execution of projects/initiatives including but not limited to: Regional Medical Center HCAHPS, ASCEND Program, Nursing Station, and Performance Improvement projects
  • Provides support for system program transitions during go-live, program maintenance and training
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget, collaborating with other departments such as Marketing, IT, Plant Ops and Supply Chain
  • Demonstrates ability to take initiative in departmental requirements, able to work independently and within a team and have the capability to make appropriate decisions independently in accordance with organization policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:
  • Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Providers
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers Certification
  • Two (2) years experience clinical nursing
  • One (1) year experience at Team Lead RN or Supervisor level
  • Proven problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
  • Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. (i.e. Microsoft Office)
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
  • Experience in project management
