POSITION CONCEPT:
The Special Events Manager primarily provides planning, tracking, execution and follow-up of all special events and fundraisers in a team-based environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as staff lead and coordinator before, during and after for the following events: JA Golf Classic, JA Bowl-a-Thon, JA Stock Market Challenge, JA Appreciation Event, and JA Rising Women.
Coordinate with the Community Impact team to ensure donor and event marketing expectations are met for special events such as signage, recognition, and promotion
Assist in gathering event registrations and attendee information
Ensure special events meet or exceed budgeted expense goals
Provide status updates regarding special events and report on grant deliverables as needed
Develop and maintain record and relationships with vendors and event attendees including RSVPs, reminders, and after event surveys
Meet regularly with Director - Community Impact to align work with strategic goals and priorities of the organization
Maintain an inventory of event related supplies and assist with purchase or donation requests for new materials for events
Additional event opportunities which include but are not limited to ribbon cuttings, small donor gatherings, board meetings

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and credentials
2+ years of experience leading and organizing fundraising events with 200+ attendees
Experience leading and organizing fundraising events for a local or national nonprofit
Experience selling sponsorships for events
Knowledge and understanding of the donor cycle
Exceptional customer-focused service
Strong relationship-building/management skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Organized and detail oriented
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot technology issues
