These are job level 4 ($21.50-$21.88/hour), school term, 6 hours/day (7:45 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. with a half hour duty free break) positions at the Paul Bunyan Center in the Early Intervention Program. Special education paraprofessionals work under the direction of a teacher and a building administrator. They work with one or more students with various types of disabilities. Duties may include and are not limited to assisting students with academics, helping to lift students, assist with physical needs such as toileting, and addressing behavior and/or emotional needs.
This position does not require a license, however, our paraprofessional positions require candidates to be considered "highly qualified" under the Code of Federal Regulations. This status requires: 1) At least two years of college credits through an accredited institution of higher education (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits); or 2) An associate's or higher degree; or 3) A passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment demonstrating the knowledge and ability to assist with instruction in reading/language arts, writing, mathematics or readiness for each.
