Last Mile Transportation at Target is responsible for moving E-Commerce shipments from our unique Omnichannel fulfillment network to our Guests\xe2\x80\x99 homes. More than 80% of that volume originates in over 1400 of our Stores making Target the largest volume true Omnichannel shipper out there. Servicing the transportation out of that huge distributed network and high volumes means a simultaneous microscopic attention to day to day detail as well as the ability to step back think strategically in order to drive change within Target and with our carriers to fully leverage our Stores as Hubs strategy and provide maximum Best in Class Guest Experience A Yard Operations Manager provides a chance to influence with a focus on safety, leadership, excellence, self-motivation, problem-solving and teamwork. You will foster a \xe2\x80\x9csafety first\xe2\x80\x9d culture through awareness, training, execution and accountability. With safety being Target\xe2\x80\x99s number one priority, you will work diligently with Site teams and the logistics leaders to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all drivers and team members that enter Target\xe2\x80\x99s yard. You will have responsibility for all yard functions, as well as execution and oversite of the 3PL carriers. Working with a sense of urgency will help ensure that operational plans are executed, and performance is executed safely while partner teams are kept informed and coordinated across functions. Your ability to find root causes to problems will be well supported by an environment of calculated risk and testing. You\xe2\x80\x99ll oversee and support logistics yard operations at distribution centers, servicing a growing base of stores by delivering loads outbound to Target\xe2\x80\x99s supply chain and store network. You\xe2\x80\x99ll collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, to include Distribution leadership, Carrier Partners, Assets Protection, Logistics Leaders, and HQ teams to identify gaps in processes and drive optimization through the development of tools and automation within the yard operation. • Four-year degree or equivalent experience, preferably in the areas of Logistics or Supply
• Chain
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, organizational, and presentation skills
• Good reasoning, conflict-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Change agent with strong credibility and influence while working in cross functional environment
• 3+ years of previous supply chain experience
• Most facilities operate 24/7 requiring flexible working hours
• Experience managing third party service
• Experience in transportation load planning, yard management or fleet management is desired
• Experience working for a best-in-class, asset based, transportation provider is preferred
• Experience leading and influencing a team with common or shared goal, providing direction and coaching for performance and development
• Proven strength in problem solving and advanced data/ statistical analysis
• Strong training and mentoring skills with emphasis on team member development and engagement
