Job Summary

The Social Worker-Intake takes immediate and accurate reports of situations for protective responses to vulnerable members of the community and ensures response when emergency services are identified. The worker receives time-sensitive reports for Child Protection, MN Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) referrals, requests for service programs, and acquires collateral information regarding reports, completes follow-up and ensures response. The Social Worker-Intake provides emergency and general information to the public, as well as referrals to resources in the Department, community, and surrounding areas. The Social worker provides cross reporting services to other social services and law enforcement agencies and supports other Intake requirements of the agency. Necessary skills include strong assessment skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, good detail and organizational skills and the ability to maintain positive, effective work relationships with others.
