The Division of Juvenile Justice is recruiting to fill a Social Services Associate position in Kotzebue at Kotzebue Youth Probation.

What you will be doing:

Assist the Kotzebue Juvenile Probation office by providing a full range of support/administrative services and limited intake, investigatory and field services duties. Establish and maintain case files and Juvenile Offender Management Information System files to meet compliance guidelines. Maintain office supplies, assist with timesheets, travel booking, and other duties as assigned.

The Social Service Associate services as a first point of contact as well as a community liaison to keep the office running smoothly.

The working environment you can expect:

This position is located in the Kotzebue Juvenile Probation office in Kotzebue, AK. This office is comprised of one Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO), one JPO District Supervisor, and one Social Services Associate (SSA). In addition to Kotzebue, we supervise probationers in numerous outlying communities in the Northwest Arctic Borough.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This position requires occasional travel for training and escorting purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in assisting clients, customers, the general public, or other staff in the explanation and application of guidelines, policies, or services.

Special Note:
Some positions require a valid Alaska driver\'s license, a background check, and fingerprinting. These requirements will be indicated at the time of recruitment.

Requires frequent travel within the State and 20-hour annual training in one-on-one control tactics.
