Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting an SMR Cost Estimator. This position is fully remote.

This position will support the Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). OCED is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $20B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and interest in large-scale clean energy demonstration projects, particularly in renewable systems, carbon capture and removal, hydrogen, and nuclear energy technologies.

We are recruiting a Cost Estimator do be part of a team doing Independent Cost Review for one of ann Advanced Reactor Demonstration Project. In brief, this ICR team would conduct a Reasonableness Review, \xe2\x80\x9cconsisting of a review of all documentation by an independent cost team, meeting with staff responsible for developing the program estimate, to analyze whether the estimate is complete and sufficient regarding the validity of cost and schedule assumptions and cost estimate methodology rationale.\xe2\x80\x9d

This is short term consulting work. Work is scheduled to start in two weeks.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in business, engineering, or related field.

Department of Energy cost estimating experience.

Experience or knowledge of small modular reactors (SMR) desired.

Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
