Founded in 1960, Trans Ash is a rapidly growing privately held Cincinnati, Ohio-based civil land construction & environmental company. We are expanding our survey services and are seeking to add a Site Surveyor to our surveying team to work on a long-term civil land construction project with our valued customer in the utility industry. This position will be based out of the Semora, NC area, and some travel within North Carolina and neighboring states will be required periodically including to the home office located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pay Information:

$60,000 - $85,000 / year

Quarterly Bonus Program

The Site Surveyor II is responsible for assisting the Site Surveyor Supervisor in executing the surveying needs of the site per the contract drawings and specifications. Work will include many aspects of surveying including but not limited to, baseline surveys, construction layout, as-built surveys, UAS (drone) aerial surveying, bathymetric surveying, and associated CAD work. Experienced and entry-level surveyors and civil engineers are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions:

• Performs work both in the field and in an office environment
• Performs construction staking and topographic surveys
• Assists in the creation of as-built drawings for project milestones
• Manage quality of work to include accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
• Accommodate client and job site needs by responding to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

• The ideal candidate will possess a 2 or 4-year degree in surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field
• High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience in Land Surveying in roles such as surveyor, crew chief, instrument operator, or survey technician will be accepted in place of a degree
• 2 years of experience in construction surveying is preferred

Training Requirements:

• Proficient with business software: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with Trimble conventional and GPS equipment is preferred.
• Experience with UAS (drone) aerial surveying is a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center is a plus

Other Information:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work in all types of weather, walk for extended periods of time
• Must be physically able to perform the work outside.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.
• Must be able to work in a construction environment.
• Must be willing to work after regular business hours, on weekends, and some holidays when necessary.
• Must have a valid driver s license.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
