PURPOSE OF POSITION: The General Manager assures the most efficient and effective operation of the restaurants and offering the maximum relating to Deer Valley Resort standards in service to our guests. These goals are to be accomplished through effective use of the facility and staff. The General Manager is responsible for service style and technique for all positions on the service staff. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for account protocol, product controls and overall maintenance and direction of the beverage programs for self service outlets.

WHAT YOU\'LL DO
  • Direct and oversee all front of house operations, to include, but not limited to, production at Silver Lake Cafeteria, Snowshoe Tommy\'s, Royal Street Caf\xc3\xa9, Ski School, Mariposa, and special events. Ensure food consistency, quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability.
  • Stay knowledgeable of current food trends to create and implement new and creative menu items each season. Always considering demographics, international, domestic, and special diet cuisine preparation.
  • Hire, train and provide daily supervision to management and staff. The manager is expected to delegate duties to the staff. The manager will make certain that delegated duties are complete and timely.
  • This position manages all employees in the front of house at Silver Lake Lodge and is responsible alongside the Executive Chef for the performance management and hiring of the employees. Works closely with Executive Chef to ensure all goals are met.
  • Control labor costs and carry out administrative functions pertaining to forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, discipline, etc.
  • Organize an efficient flow of production and maintain minimum but adequate staffing
  • Responsible for proper functioning of the "InfoGenesis POS" system, as relates to the self-service restaurants, including proper prices, revenue tracking, tax, remote printing, and guest check appearance.
  • Motivate, train and promote personnel with potential to build a good, efficient team
  • Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions for employees and in accordance with health codes.
  • Ensure that a high standard of dress, personal hygiene, and safety is maintained by all employees.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, presentable, and professionally managed seven days a week.
  • Think positively and collaborate with VP of Food and Beverage, Food and Beverage Director, Director of Beverage, Resort Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, in all phases of our operations to maintain the guest and staff experience.
  • Responsible for proper functioning of the following systems Workday, UKG, and OpenTable.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with guests and staff especially at busy, high-volume meal periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of executive leadership independently operating both fast casual and higher ending dining operations
  • Must possess a broad knowledge of high-level food service standards
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to follow through on directives and projects, organized, motivated, and able to maintain a calm, positive attitude during high-stress periods
  • Must have experience in quick service settings, causal table side service restaurants, and fine dining service style operations
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of Office 365
  • Must be "Tips" certified and possess a Food Handler\'s certification card or willingness to get one. Must have knowledge of wine, beer, and liquor, to help support the Beverage Director in each menu that is created
  • Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action during high volume business days
  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure
  • Must be willing to work various hours, holidays and weekends, many times long hours on the job. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Requires long hours daily and within the seven-day work week. Weekends during peak season are mandatory.
  • REQUIRED OVERTIME: As necessary

PAY RATE:
  • Pay: $70,000 - $75,000 per year
