Job Title: Shipping Assistant Hours: Full-time Position 7:00 am \xe2\x80\x93 3:30 pm, occasional overtime and/or weekend hours will be required based on operational needs Location: Fort Mill, SC Summary: Summit Stairs & Millwork Inc. is hiring a Shipping Assistant to assist in management of incoming & outgoing shipments, periodic inventory cycle counts & other administrative duties. This position reports directly to the Shipping Manager. Salary/Benefits: Starting $20/hour, commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include health & dental insurance, paid holidays and paid time off. Responsibilities:
All customers and employees are required to wear a mask. Ability to commute/relocate:
- Responsible for inventory accuracy, periodic physical counts, and management of shipping supplies.
- Manage and report on all shipping processes.
- Help in achieving shipment accuracy and implementation of corrective measures.
- Assist with staging and packaging products for shipping.
- Communicate with vendors on purchased items to gain assurance that items will arrive on time. If items have not been received by the expected date, work with vendors to expedite shipment of items.
- Manages the flow of the delivery of materials to customers through the management of "pick tickets" before and after deliveries.
- Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time for each delivery to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
- Confers with salesmen and Shipping Manager to confirm status of scheduled projects.
- Prepares shipping/receiving documents. Maintains appropriate documentation.
- Ensures timeliness of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Safely operate forklifts.
- May perform other special projects assigned by Shipping Manager.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in logistics/shipping department related field (preferred)
