Position Summary




The Shift Coordinator plays a critical leadership role by ensuring smooth production operations, clear communication, and consistent shift execution. This position provides direct support to employees, helps plan labor and workflow, and promotes a positive, accountable, high-performance culture. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem-solver, and hands-on leader with a proven track record in manufacturing.




Key Responsibilities



Lead daily shift operations to meet production, quality, and safety goals. Coordinate staffing, assign work, and ensure proper coverage throughout the shift. Communicate shift expectations, updates, and operational priorities to team members. Support employee engagement by providing coaching, guidance, and day-to-day leadership. Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and other departments to resolve issues quickly. Monitor performance indicators (output, downtime, scrap, attendance) and address issues promptly. Maintain accurate shift logs, reports, and handoff communication for next shift leaders. Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and leading by example. Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across the shift.

Qualifications



Minimum

4 years of manufacturing experience

required. Experience in a lead, coordinator, or informal leadership role strongly preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Working knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices.
