KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is a key member of the corporate tax group for Korn Ferry, a global organizational consulting firm, headquartered in Los Angeles, California. This Senior Tax Accountant position will report to the Tax Manager and will be working closely with the peer professionals throughout the organization. The position supports the entire tax team (Federal, State, and International) for tax compliance and reporting purposes. This role is 100% remote. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Assist with preparation of workpapers supporting the income tax provision on a quarterly and yearly basis including effective and estimated annual tax rate reconciliations, valuation allowance assessments, current and deferred tax calculations, return to provision adjustments and uncertain tax positions.
  • Assist with quarterly tax related close processes including data gathering and preparation of source workpapers from SAP and core systems
  • Assist with preparation of tax compliance workpapers for international, federal, and state income/franchise tax
  • Assist with preparation of U.S. federal, state and local income tax returns and estimated payments/extension requests
  • Assist with preparation of returns or support the return process for property tax, sales and use tax, annual reports, and other non-income tax related items
  • Participate in tax audits, respond to inquiries, and provide information related to internal and external requests
  • Assist with tax notices, correspond with taxing authorities, and other special projects as needed
  • Conduct tax research and apply to compliance; monitor federal and state tax law developments
  • Help manage tax calendar and track filing obligations
  • Help gather documentation supporting SOX compliance per internal controls
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
  • 4-year degree in accounting or finance required
  • A current Certified Public Accountant certification and/or Master of Taxation preferred
  • 3-6 years of experience in work environment dealing with large corporate tax affairs which may be in industry, Big 4 accounting firm, or similar surroundings required
  • A working understanding of U.S. corporate income tax laws and tax accounting pursuant to ASC 740 and international income taxation, including aspects of Tax Reform
  • Strong overall computer skills and proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP and familiarity with financial consolidation systems, OneSource Tax (specifically OneSource Income Tax [OIT]) and Dataflow a plus
  • High energy with a willingness to \xe2\x80\x9croll up his/her sleeves\xe2\x80\x9d is critical
  • Strong curiosity to understand who we are and what we do
  • Strong functional and technical tax skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively assist with projects, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as function well with independent responsibilities
  • A strong drive to improve functional results, strong decision-making abilities, and a desire to execute flawlessly
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with effective solutions.
